Gail Asper's video "rap" for VoteAnyWay, a University of Manitoba project to get youth politically engaged, has gone viral! [Keep reading to see the video]
Asper was asked to film a short video in July to promote the VoteAnyway project and did not deliver the usual expected script. With dramatic flair stood on the steps of the Manitoba Legislature in July and delivered a rousing “poem,” which can also be called a stilted rap.
“We had lots of people come in prepared to say something,” Jared Wesley, a University of Manitoba political scientist who co-founded the VoteAnyWay project with some students told the National Post in an article published this week. “We just didn’t see many people prepared to rap something. We were pleasantly surprised.”
