SALISBURY HOUSE COMMUNITY CONNECTION ‘FUN’ RAISER

Press Release From Sals, posted Nov 4, 2011

(Winnipeg) Salisbury House is proud to launch a new Community Connection ‘Fun’Raiser program beginning this Friday, October 7, 2011. This program is Salisbury House’s latest effort in their long history of supporting the community and is tailored to put funds directly into the hands of schools, charities, daycares and sports teams who register with Salisbury House.

The program allows charities, schools, day cares and sports teams to register their organization with Salisbury House, and earn 20% of food sales for their cause on the days assigned to them. The process is simple. An organization registers on the Salisbury House website, www.salisburyhouse.ca by downloading and submitting an application form or they can contact Duncan Owen directly at 831-3404.

Each registered organization will be assigned Mondays and Thursdays, for a period of four consecutive weeks, to raise funds. The organization will receive and then distribute authorized letters to all friends, colleagues and families of the organization, who wish to participate. This allows people who have the letter to go to any Salisbury House participating location on their assigned days, present the letter to their server or to the cashier and have 20% of their food bill (not including taxes or alcohol) donated to their designated organization.

According to Sals Marketing & Communications Manager, Duncan Owen, there are no organizational nightmares of collecting cash, no inventory to purchase and no complicated paperwork. Salisbury House will handle everything but the distribution of the letters and getting the supporters to the restaurant.

Earl Barish, Salisbury House President & CEO said “after 80 years of history in Winnipeg, I felt this involvement with the community was a way to return the many years of support from so many people in our wonderful city”.

Giving to your chosen charity, school, or sports team has never tasted so good.
