SOPHIE MILMAN TO PERFORM AT JCFS CENTURY OF CARING GALA- WATCH VIDEO OF HER SINGING HERE

Century of Caring” Gala evening on May 24th at the Fort Garry Hotel.

Jewish Child and Family Service (JCFS) is celebrating 100 Years of Jewish Social Services in Winnipeg; and its 60th anniversary with a “Century of Caring” Gala evening on May 24th at the Fort Garry Hotel.

This event will honour the memory and vision of its original founders and will celebrate the new generation of public spirited individuals who have pledged their support to ensure that JCFS continues to be here to serve those in need.

A highlight of the Gala dinner in May is the featured entertainment by Juno award winning jazz soloist Sophie Milman, who knows first-hand the critical role that social service agencies play within a community. “I am thrilled to be doing an event for a charitable organization in Winnipeg,” says the 28-year-old Milman, who was born in Russia and lived in Israel for several years before moving to Toronto as a teenager.

“The 100th Anniversary of Jewish social services in Winnipeg and the 60th anniversary of JCFS are crucial milestones that speak to the best of what the Jewish community has accomplished in Winnipeg,” says Sherry Lercher Davis, co-chair of the landmark event with Tracy Leipsic.

“The Gala evening will pay tribute to all that has led up to these important dates,” she adds, “while the Century of Caring fundraising campaign speaks to the future; to assuring that JCFS will continue to be a vibrant agency positioned to service the ongoing needs of our community.”
