International Day of Peace (IDP) recognized by the United Nations occurs September 21 every year and is celebrated by many organizations around the world. Rotary WPP is hosting its third consecutive annual concert for peace, justice and human rights, once again, to have people in the heart of Canada, plant more seeds for peace, justice and human rights and to inspire more understanding and acts of kindness for the next 364 days following.

1. St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church together with the Asian Christian fellowship and L'Eglise Presbytérienne Viens et Vois, 3 St. Vital Road, 7:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday September 19, 2012

Prayer and Song for Peace, Justice, and Human Rights in the Iona tradition

2. Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 561 Wellington Crescent, evening of September 20, 2012

Meditation.

3. Saint-Boniface Cathedral - 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm on September 20, 2012

Multilingual/Multifaith Prayers, Music, Testimonials, Meditation

4. Saint-Boniface Cathedral - Youth Rally – 11:30 to 12:30 on September 21st, 2012.

Gathering, music, moment of silence at noon, testimonial, symbolic act for peace.

5. Jubilee Place - A concert organized by Rotary WPP, 173 Talbot (just off Henderson Highway), September 21st

Music featuring Spirit's Call Choir, Lisa Marie Tucker and Jerry Mills

For invited guests only : All partners of Rotary WPP such as - Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Friends of Canadian Museum for Human Rights, University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, Canadian Mennonite University,

Université de Saint-Boniface - the performers on September 21st, the first 3 venues listed above hosting and organizing their own events September 19, 20 and 21st, and the Sponsors of the closing event, as well as volunteers and Rotary

Clubs will each be allocated tickets to assigned seats to distribute to their chosen guests. The objective is to fill the theatre with guests committed to making a contribution to peace, justice and human rights. A volunteer collection will be taken at the closing event for purposes of gauging perceived interest and to raise seed money for the 2013 event.

Vision For The Future

The vision of Rotary WPP is for this week, in future years, to have more and more venues and to plant, nurture and grow more and more seeds until a critical mass of people in the heart of Canada are setting an example for the world of peace, justice and human rights in action. The vision is to expand the audience, through the wonders of technology, throughout the planet, on request of Grassroots people anywhere, who want to become world peace partners with Rotary WPP

through service and example.
