About a hundred people came out to celebrate Tu Bishvat on Saturday, February 7^th at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory. The tropical rainforest was the perfect location to celebrate the “New Year for Trees”. Everyone there had fun socializing, dancing and eating at the event which was sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, Congregation Etz Chayim, Congregation Shaarey Zedek, and the Jewish National Fund. 

There was a special Tu Bishvat seder led by Shayla Fink with fruit sampling and a musical Havdallah Service led by Rabbi Green from Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Shayla Fink and Kinzey Posen provided the entertainment and the crowd danced to English, Hebrew and Spanish favourites. There was even an opportunity for impromptu karaoke.

Delicious appetizers were supplied by Desserts Plus in addition to cookies, fruit and the popular chocolate fountain.
