Solidarity Mission – Come Home to Israel with JNF

For immediate release, February 20, 2015

The Jewish National Fund is excited to announce a “Solidarity Mission to Israel,” taking place from Tuesday, May 12 – Wednesday, May 20, 2015.

 

Bringing together people from all JNF countries around the world, this mission is being held in celebration of JNF’s 114 years of achievements in Israel.

 

While each country will have its own unique itinerary, participants from all over the world will join together when participating in special solidarity events.

 

Highlights include:

•             7 night stay at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem

•             VIP access to Israeli Air Force Base

•             Special ceremony at the residence of the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin

•             Jerusalem Day celebration at Ammunition Hill with the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat

•             Wine & cheese tasting at winery              

•             Studio tour and news update with I-24 News station

•             Heritage tour of the Old City of Jerusalem

•             Culinary guided tour and food tasting at Jaffa Market

•             Solidarity rally at Be'er Sheva River Park with State Officials and residents of Be'er Sheva and neighbouring communities

•             And so much more!

“The Mission is an opportunity to show solidarity.  Israel has experienced some difficult times and our presence and support is needed,” says Rob Berkowits, Executive Director of the JNF Manitoba/Saskatchewan branch.

 

“We aim to make the Canadian contingent the largest ever, so invite your family and friends and join JNF in Israel this spring.”

The Jewish National Fund of Canada (JNF) is a registered charitable organization established in 1901 with the goal of purchasing land in Israel, and has been the sole agency responsible for the development and infrastructure of land and settlements there.  Today, JNF’s work focuses on five areas: water conservation and recycling, forestry, environmental education, community development and environmental research and development.
