JCFS to present a short film developed by the agency and produced by Lankbeach productions followed by a panel discussion
In the summer of 2015, JCFS put out a call for actors to volunteer for the production of a short film “Not in My Family…” to address the topic of elder abuse. The film along with a resource kit will be premiered on February 3rd, 2016 to laypeople and professionals in the Berney Theatre of the Asper Jewish Community Campus.
Following the film, a panel of professionals will bring the audience insight on prevention and practical advice on how to deal with cases of elder abuse.
The development of this project was made possible by a Grant received from the Government of Canada New Horizons for Seniors to develop programming and resource tools to educate the community.
The February 3rd event, scheduled from 1pm to 2pm followed by refreshments, is FREE of charge and open to all. Seniors and people with reduced mobility who would like to attend should contact Jewish Child and Family Service.
