For Release: Thursday, May 19th, 2016 The Winnipeg Board of Jewish Education Congratulates JWC’s Class of 1991 on their upcoming 25th High School Reunion! Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 19th, 2016 - During the upcoming long weekend Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate’s graduating class of 1991 is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a reunion in Winnipeg. Over twenty-three alumni from the class will be together, with twelve who are arriving from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Connecticut and California. The highlight of the weekend will take place on Sunday, May 22nd (11 a.m.) at Gray Academy of Jewish Education. The morning will begin with a ceremony in memory of Adam Anhang (z”l), one of the thirty-eight graduates of the class whose life was tragically taken in 2005 at the age of 32. Adam’s ethical will, recorded days before high school graduation (a tradition still held today) will be shown. A brunch will follow with invited guests. The class is thrilled to have former teachers and family members present to acknowledge the impact that Jewish Day School education played in their lives. An endowment fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba has been opened by the class of ‘91 (housed within the Gray Academy Endowment) in memory of Adam Anhang (z”l). The interest from the fund will support co-curricular programs in the area of “Torah U’Madah”, which may include Jewish experiential learning and learning in the areas of business, ethics and entrepreneurship.
