Chaired by Michael Silver, JNF Manitoba & Saskatchewan Vice President, the extremely successful event drew attendees from all ages and backgrounds: young families with children and newcomers.
We were delighted with the presence of Garry Hyman and Jack Lipkin, members of the Manitoba Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and JNF 2018 Negev Gala Honourees. Jessica Cogan, JNF Board President, introduced them and the 2018 Negev Gala Project: building a Dental Clinic for severe disabled children in Israel.
While all the attendees were enjoying the delicious breakfast brought from Gunn’s Bakery, the audience heard a thought provoking presentation about BDS and the role of knowledge and information fighting the boycott against Israel. The presenters Sigal Klainerman and Shai Josopov, Ambassadors of the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew U, did a very good job presenting the case of Israel.
This year’s net proceeds generated from Breakfast for Israel will be directed towards the Ilanot School in Jerusalem. Thanks to support from JNF Canada, today the students of Ilanot have a state of the art playground designed to meet their physical, social and emotional needs. Every element comes together in a holistic teaching environment and is easily accessible to all the children. JNF is also helping to fund the Green House at the school.
JNF would like to thank all of the participants for making Breakfast for Israel such a “heimish” gathering.
