JEWISH NATIONAL FUND’S NEGEV GALA 2018 TO FEATURE DAVID D'OR -WORLD RENOWNED SINGER, SONG WRITER AND COMPOSER PERFORMING ISRAELI AND CLASSICAL FAVOURITES

The Jewish National Fund of Canada Manitoba/Saskatchewan Regional Branch is thrilled to announce that world renowned singer, songwriter, and composer David D’or will be performing at this year’s Negev Galawith his quintet and violin soloist Alexander (Sanya) Kroitor. It will be a unique show with the best of Israeli and classical favourites. The Jewish National Fund’s Negev Gala will take place at the Centennial Concert Hall on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. People of all cultures, races and religions from every end of the earth have flocked to see David D’or perform in countries as far-flung as China, Australia, France, Spain, India, Morocco, the United States and beyond. Over the course of his career, D'or has been honoured with invitations to perform for many heads of state, kings and queens and religious leaders, bringing his message of unity and peace along with his soaring singing voice to key influencers around the world. He has entertained at the invite of the Vatican six times, sang for Former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, performed for the U.N. at the decade memorial event remembering September 11, opened the Chinese New Year celebrations in the Forbidden City in Beijing and has enjoyed a very special relationship with Israeli President Shimon Peres, who even asked specifically for D'or to sing at his funeral. D'or has also performed with many leading philharmonic orchestras including the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Israel and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Rome, London, Moscow, Shanghai, Budapest, Beijing, Los Angeles and many others.

 

This truly enjoyable and unforgettable musical experience will take place at the Centennial Concert Hall on Tuesday, May 29 at the JNF’s annual Negev Gala honouring the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity Manitoba Chapter and one of its most distinguished members, Dr. Gerald Niznick, who has received Honourary Doctorate Degrees from both the University of Manitoba and Tel Aviv University. Alpha Omega Fraternity is a renowned dental society with a proud history of 110 years. Dr. Niznick received Alpha Omega’s highest honour, the Achievement Medal, for his significant contributions to the dental implant field.

 

The funds raised will be directed towards the construction of a new Dental Clinic for children and young adults with special needs, serious mobility issues and complex health conditions in Israel. The treatment received at the specialized dental clinic will enable Israel’s most vulnerable members to benefit from the highest quality dental care and hygiene in an atmosphere most suitable and supportive to their needs. This project is a partnership between JNF and ALEH C.A.R.E.S., Israel’s largest Network of Care for Children with Severe Multiple Disabilities.

The Negev Gala has honoured outstanding leaders from within the Winnipeg community for more than 6 decades. The Negev Gala is the Jewish National Fund’s most important fundraising event of the year.

 

Jewish National Fund of Canada (JNF) is a registered charitable organization established in 1901 with the goal of purchasing land in Israel, and has been the sole agency responsible for the development and infrastructure of land and communities there.
