According to  Dr. Aaron Lerner of  IMRA, Makor Rishon correspondent Ariel Kahane reported on the front page of  January 7 2011's
edition of that Hebrew daily that during the course of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's
biannual presentation to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee
on Tuesday Jan. 4  he said that:

"It should be remembered that we, as Jews, have been within the broad
borders of the Land of Israel not tens and hundreds of years but instead
thousands of years. When the Palestinians talk about historic rights they
should remember that they have been there a shorter time. The rights of the
Jews to Hebron and Beit El, Rachel's Tomb and Shilo, are greater and much
more significant. Therefore these places should remain in our hands in any
arrangement".
