Fubuki Daiko Japanese Drum Group and others to perform in a benefit concert to raise money for Japan Relief on Tuesday, March 29th at 7:00 pm at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.

Congregation Shaarey Zedek and the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg have come together to hold a community-wide benefit concert to raise funds for relief efforts in Japan. The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, March 29th at 7:00 pm at Congregation Shaarey Zedek located at 561 Wellington Crescent. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

The concert will feature a variety of musical performances to suit all tastes including Fabuki Daiko Japanese Drum Group, Those Guys, Richard Yaffe, the cast of Spelling Bee Jr., Tracy Kasner Greaves, Andrea Macasaet, The Junior Chazzanim Group, Aaron Hutton - this year’s Rose Bowl winner, Jeremy Walmsley, Debbie Maslowsky, Stephanie Sy and others. The show is coordinated by Chazzan Aníbal Mass of Shaarey Zedek, directed by Kayla Gordon, well known for her work with the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre and Prairie Theatre Exchange, with Jim Ingebrigtsen acting as the Master of Ceremonies.

100% of all donations will be transmitted to the Federation’s overseas partner – the American Joint Distribution Committee – an internationally recognized NGO working in over 60 countries around the world. Although Japan, as an advanced industrial country, is able to take responsibility for much of the relief effort, assistance in many areas will still be required.

Concert admission is free of charge and everyone is welcome. Donations of all amounts will be accepted throughout the evening with tax receipts issued for contributions over $10.
