[Nate The Great, our new Winnipeg Jewish Review sports columnist reflects on seeing the historic first victory of th re-born Wininpeg Jets, October 17. ]
It was my first NHL game and I enjoyed itvery much. It was better than the Moose games I have seen because it wasfaster, more stick work and players were not afraid to hit. The score was 2-1in favor of the Jets. Goals were by Kyle Wellwood (Assisted by Bistromov andAntropov), Tanner Glass (Assisted by Bistromov) and the goal by Pittsburgh wasby Z.Michelek (Assisted by Letang and Cooke).
There was so much screaming when the goals werescored (except for the Pittsburgh goal) and at the end of the game.
My three stars of the night were TobiasEndstrom as my third star, Kyle Wellwood as my second, and Ondrej Pavelec as myfirst Star.

Winnipeg Jets Vs. Ottawa Senators
During the first intermission of the Winnipeg Jets game against Ottawa Senators the TSN panel introduced the topic Mark Sheiffelle because he has nine games to prove himself worthy of being on the Winnipeg Jets and those nine games are running out. Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press thinks Mark is not worthy of being on the team. I in fact disagree with Gary because I think Mark is better than some players who have contracts.
Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler both got injured during the game. Ladd suffered a puck to the nose and Wheeler twisted his knee and both of them returned to the game, Ladd with stitches on the bridge of his nose and Wheeler with no sign of injury.

WINNIPEG JETS VS TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
The Jets game was special in 3 ways for the forward Nik Antropov, the whole team and for the goalie Ondrej Pavelec. For Nik Antropov because it is his first game against his old team Toronto Maple Leafs. It was also special for the whole team because it is the first game the Jets played in Toronto at Air Canada Centre. For Ondrej Pavelec because it was his first career shootout. In the game defenseman Tobias Endstrom and forward Alexander Burmistrov each got their first goal of the season. Dustin Byfuglien got his first point of the season. There was double excitement when Joffrey Lupal of the Toronto Maple Leafs scored and broke the camera at the back of the net and to replace it would cost $400.
