Musica Speciale is a concert series founded by Violinist and Composer John Racaru. His mission is to perform unique, rarely heard and unusual compositions, including new music.
Now Musica Speciale presents a unique concert featuring renowned Canadian pianist Robert Silverman on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 7:30 pm. At Bethel Mennonite Hall on 465 Stafford Street.
Recognized as one of Canada’s premiere pianists, Robert Silverman has reached a level of musical and technical authority that can only be accomplished after years of deep commitment to the instrument and its vast literature. The distinguished pianist has performed in concert halls throughout North American, Europe, the Far East and Australia. Robert Silverman’s discography includes over 30 CD’s and a dozen LPs.  To find out more about Silverman http://robertsilverman.ca/?mpage=about&spage=bio .
Celebrating Franz Liszt 200th anniversary and Musica Speciale 5th anniversary, Fashion of Sound where the musical styles are contrasting and complementing each other in a unique combination.  World premier of “Magic Prayer for violin and cello” performed by John Racaru – violin and Edvany da Silva – cello. 
Performing Sonata in B minor by Franz Liszt, Meditation by Sid Robinovitch and works by Brahms, Sarasate, John Racaru, Michael Pepa,  and Troy Ducharme.  Performing  are Robert Silverman - piano, John Racaru - violin, Edvany da Silva - cello, Marco Castillo - voice / Brazilian guitar, Richard Tyborovski - classical guitar, Tim Butler - voice / Celtic guitar, and Fred Liessen - percussion.
