It is my pleasure to inform you that our Board of Directors has confirmed theselection of Ms. Kathleen Klaasen as our new, permanent Chief Executive Officer.  She will commence her duties at the end of June.

Kathleen rose to the top of a strong list of applicants. Our Human Resources Committee was impressed by her background, her enthusiasm, her desire to connect with the broader Jewish community, and her eagerness to work with staff and board to lead The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre into the future.

By way of background, Kathleen has been the Manager of Nursing Initiatives for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority since 2008. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Executive Director and Director of Nursing with Lions Housing Centres.

She has expertise and experience in gerontology, long-term care, and quality improvement.

She is approachable, dynamic, and motivated by the pursuit of excellence. We look forward to introducing Kathleen Klaasen to you. And we look forward to her leadership.

Until Kathleen assumes her duties in June, Harvey Kinsman will continue as our Acting CEO. We’re grateful for Harvey's commitment to the Centre. Indeed, we are grateful for the hard work and commitment of all of our staff.
