THE FACTS
Jews lived in Judea/Samaria since ancient times.
1950 – Judea/Samaria renamed the "West Bank"
1949-67 – Jordan forbids Jews to live there.
1978 – Settlements frozen to encourage Arabs to join Camp David talks – Arabs refused.
1994 – Jordan signs peace agreement; settlements not an issue.
2000 – PM Barak offers to dismantle dozens of settlements, Palestinians refuse to end conflict.
2005 – Israel unilaterally leaves Gaza; terrorist attacks continue.
2008- PM Olmert offers withdrawal from 94% of "West Bank"; Arabs reject offer.
2010 – PM Netanyahu freezes settlements for 10 months, Arabs refuse to negotiate until very end then walk out of talks.
