FEDERATION ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGES

WINNIPEG (July 4th, 2012) - Bob Freedman, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, is very pleased to announce the following staffing changes and additions.

Faith Kaplan, who had been on contract with Federation for the past two years providing marketing and fundraising expertise, joins the Federation team as Branding and Endowment Fundraising Director, working with the entire team to build the Federation brand and increase the Combined Jewish Appeal campaign. She will also be responsible for Federation’s Partnership Together project in the Galilee Panhandle. Faith can be reached at 477.7424 or [email protected] Mondays through Thursday.

A new Jewish Engagement Team has been created under the auspices of Federation and its partners to increase the collective capability of Winnipeg Jewish community organizations to reach the less connected. The team will develop meaningful Jewish experiences, fill informal educational gaps, work collaboratively with synagogue congregations to reach non-members, and connect those who are not already active in Jewish community institutions to some aspect of Jewish life through innovative strategies.

Hart Jacob, previously Director of Hillel and Jewish Campus Life, is now Leadership Development Director. Hart will be focussed on engaging the JPEG demographic (25-45 year olds) with social, social action, Jewish identity, Israel advocacy, and leadership development programming. He will also be responsible for involvement of the JPEG demographic in the CJA annual campaign, Taglit-Birthright and Birthright Next. Hart can be reached at 480.6561 or [email protected].

Rena Elbaze will join the Jewish Engagement Team as Jewish Engagement Specialist acting as a concierge to connect young adults and families with Jewish life and find a comfortable context for their Jewish identity. Creating innovative Jewish outreach experiences will be a key focus of Rena’s efforts as she works in collaboration with other Federation team members, the synagogues, and community organizations. Rena will be available effective August 20th at [email protected].

Avi Posen returns to Federation as part of the Jewish Engagement Team, in the role of Hillel and Jewish Campus Life Director. Avi will provide and deliver Jewish content for teen and young adult programs, including leadership development, and will be the primary contact for students 18-24 for all program areas including Israel advocacy, social action, socialization, Jewish identity building, and engaging with Israel. Avi will be available effective August 20th at [email protected].
