 Star-Studded Musical Line-Up for it’s 4th Year

Jerusalem Woodstock Revival returns to the Israeli capital for its fourth consecutive summer, this year with a star-studded Israeli line-up consisting of Geva Alon, Michael Greilsammer, Yael Deckelbaum, Ummagumma, The Elevators, Maya Johanna Menachem & Shay Tochner, Libi & The Flashback and Crystal Ship.

Continuing the Jerusalem Woodstock tradition, the capital’s beloved 60’s festival returns on August 2nd  to Jerusalem’s Kraft Stadium for a fourth year of covers from music legends including Neil Young, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan.

“I missed the original festival of ‘69”, remarks Steve Leibowitz, President of the American Football in Israel (AFI) and director of the Kraft Family Stadium, where the 6-hour benefit concert is set to take place on August 2nd "…however, each summer we bring a little bit of Woodstock to Jerusalem and it has proven highly popular with Anglos and Sabras of all ages".  Libi & The Flashback, will once more hit the Jerusalem Woodstock stage following their hugely successful Joe Cocker tribute last year. Another returnee, flying in especially from LA for the festival, is Abigail Yasgur, co-author of the book “Max Said Yes”, the children’s book relating the story of Abigail’s famous cousin, Max Yasgur, who agreed to host the original Woodstock festivalon his dairy farm in Upstate New York in 1969.

Along with booths, juggling, face painting and other activities for the whole family, a traditional festival highlight is the "best dressed hippy" competition. Danny Gewirtz, another concert organizer adds: "This year our Woodstock is on the Jewish love festival of “Tu B’Av”. We don’t promise the mud of Woodstock '69, but along with Rock 'n' Roll and hippies of all ages, we hope to bring back the feeling of love, as in our previous festivals. The peace we'll leave to the politicians.
