The United Church of Canada has voted to boycott products exported by Israeli settlements on the West Bank at its 41st general council meeting in Ottawa.
Michael Posner's has written an interesting article about the effects this is having on interfaith relations between the church and Jewish communities, click here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/united-church-of-canada-approves-israeli-settlement-boycott/article4487724/
Editor's note: We will be following this story more in detail in our next issue-- Suffice it to note, that this boycott would cover products of Jewish settlements in the Golan Heights (during a time when it is an island of stability compared to what is going on in Syria. Interestingly,in an anonymous survey, 75 percent of Druze students from the Golan said they wanted to remain in Israel if the Golan should one day be part of Syria as part of a peace agreement .
