Changes Made After Departure of David Greaves

Following the departure of David Greaves who left his position with the Jewish Federation to join the staff of the Jewish Foundation, the Federation has undergone a restructuring.

Greaves, who had been the Associate Campaign director for the Combined Jewish Appeal for the last five years left the Federation last month.

Judi Price-Rosen, who up until now has been the Director of Next Generations Initiative, and in charge of J-PEG with the Federation has  changed  positions.  She has now assumed the duties of Associate Director of Donor Development within the Federation’s Financial Resource Development Department. Her new role is very similar to the position that Greaves previously held.

Price-Rosen told the Winnipeg Jewish Review that “In this new role, I will be focusing on new donor opportunities to the annual CJA campaign and endowments as we launch the Securing our Future campaign in September.”

Price-Rosen noted that it is with “mixed emotions” that she is leaving her former position to assume her new role.

“In the past seven years I have had the privilege of meeting and working with hundreds of young leaders from Winnipeg and across Canada who are passionate about our community and the State of Israel. While I will miss my involvement in Young Leadership, I feel reassured knowing that our generation is stepping up and making a real difference.”

Since Price-Rosen has assumed her new position, Samantha Loxton will be filling her old shoes. Loxton has assumed the position of Director of Leadership Development and, will co-ordinate all future J-PEG programming and leadership initiatives.

For the past three years Loxton has been in charge of JSA/Hillel on campus. She told the Winnipeg Jewish Review that “JSA/Hillel in just 3 short years has created a visible space on campus for all Jewish students to connect to.”

As Loxton said, such programs as “Jews, Brews and Canoes - 3 day leadership retreat at B’nai Brith Camp,” and “Punch Lines for Peace” are examples of programs that were put on by JSA/Hillel “that are still been talked about both on campus and through out our Jewish community.”

Loxton added, “These past 3 years have been an incredible journey for me. I have had the great pleasure to be introduced and work with, in my opinion not only great leaders and students on campus, but the leaders of tomorrow. As I take on the new position of Director of Leadership with the Jewish Federation, I want to extend a thank you to JSA/Hillel, the past and present Executive as well as the membership at large for all of your support and your vision to always seem to make the impossible a reality.”
As a result of Loxton resuming her new role, Bob Freedman, CEO of the Jewish Federation said that the Federation is looking to hire a Director of Jewish Campus Life, which is similar to the position that Loxton formerly held.  The Director of Jewish Campus life will implement programming that includes Israel advocacy initiatives.
