National Council of Jewish Women Bakes Hamentaschen For JCFS Clients

National Council of Jewish Women, Winnipeg Section members and volunteers bakedhamentaschen for shalach manot packages for Jewish Child and Family Services clients

 

National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, established in 1897, is a volunteer organization which, in the spirit of Judaism, is dedicated to furthering human welfare in the Jewish and general communities locally, nationally and internationally. Through an integrated program of education, service and social action, the organization helps to fulfill unmet needs and to serve the individual and the community.

 

For over 25 and years National Council of Jewish Women of Canada (NCJWC), Winnipeg Section has been baking Hamentashen preparing Shalach Minot packages for Jewish Child and Family Services (JCFS) clients.

 

This year was no different. On February 20, a dedicated group of volunteers met in the Herzlia kitchen and baked over 350 hamentashen and put together 70 packages. Each package also contained a beverage, candies, fruit, chips as well as a variety prune, poppy seed and apricot hamentashen. JCFS staff and volunteers distribute the Shalach Minot.

Volunteers were: Sharon Allentuck, Rose Aziman, Judy Lipsey, Krista Zipper, Diane Dubey from Chicago, Terrie Ship from Potomac, Maryland

Adi (mazel tov on your Bat Mitzvah), Tal and Aviv Dahan.
