Gwen Secter’s 25th anniversary celebration  dinner held Thursday May 23 at 1588 Main street was a gala affair.
 
 
The room was transformed.. white linens, silver and crystal and white chair-covers.
 
 
Almost 100 guests attended and enjoyed a fabulous dinner of poached salmon, wild rice and mushrooms, grilled asparagus, fruit compote and salad. Dessert was cheesecake and berries.
 
 
The M.C. was Jerry Maslowsky

 
Mayor Sam Katz attended at the start of the evening and presented Gwen Secter with the prestigious Community Service Award from the City of Winnipeg. “as an exemplary organization whose excellent leadership in the field of community service is gratefully appreciated”

 Many individuals sponsored the event including Ed Shinewald and family in honour of Sophie Shinewald’ s 100th birthday, National Council of Jewish 

Women as meal sponsor, Rae and Gary Margolis, Deborah Gray and the Secter and Guralnick Families (all major sponsors) in addition to many other sponsors.
 
 
The highlight of the evening was a promotional video produced by Lank Beach Productions and sponsored by the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba showcasing all the programs and services the Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre has to offer the community.

This milestone anniversary should launch the Centre into another 25 years of service to the next generation of older adults in our community.
