BB CAMP CHOSEN FOR UPCOMING TV PILOT FILMED FOR FAMILY CHANNEL

June 17, 2013

[Editor's note: Letters I received from BB Camp]

Dear Parents,

I am thrilled to share with you that Town Island has been secured for an upcoming TV pilot filmed for the Family Channel.  The shoot will take place during staff training week and we have been approached by the production company to promote an opportunity for youth (and adults) interested in working as an extra.  Please read the information below If you are your children are interested, please contact Leah at [email protected] or by telephone at 204.295.2114

Families who are interested must recognize the time commitment that the movie production is seeking for next week.  Extras needing to overnight will reside at BB Camp.  Transportation to and from Kenora is at parent’s expense.

The movie production is also seeking adults, in particular Looking for 3 x Male extras age 25-50 years to play as 1970s cops - must have longer hair (past ears and facial hair or sideburns).  The shoot is for Tuesday, June 25th.

Proceeds of the filming of the movie will be directed at constructing our new climbing tower.  There is an opportunity that in some scenes where large mass of extras are needed, the production company will direct the proceeds of paying extras to BB Camp rather than to the extras as a fundraising opportunity.  Our hope is that the extras will support this initiative so that the Camp can utilize the funds to purchase additional equipment and supplies for camp programs.

Currently, the production company is only utilizing BB Camp during the third week of June.  This will minimize disruptions to our regular camp program.  If you have the acting bug, I encourage you to contact Leah today and forward by Email a completed casting form along with a recent headshot photo.  First come, first served!   They will only be accepted emails until all spots are secured.

Warmest regards,
Brenda Tessler Donen | Executive Director
