Jewish students host Interfaith Passover Seder

Press Release, March 25, 2014

Winnipeg, March 24, 2014. Hillel Winnipeg, The Jewish Student’s Association on campus at the University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg, will be hosting an Interfaith Passover Seder at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue on March 30, 2014. The event is sponsored by Hillel Winnipeg of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs,  University of Manitoba Chaplain’s Association, the Avi Schaeffer Fund, and Congregation Shaarey Zedek.

Each year Hillel Winnipeg brings university students together for Interfaith events, including last year’s highly successful Interfaith Shabbat Dinner. This year, students from the general community will have an opportunity learn about the Jewish Holiday of Passover, its traditions, tour the synagogue, and enjoy a traditional Passover meal. The interactive Passover service - the Seder - will be led by Congregation Shaarey Zedek’s very own Rabbi Alan Green and Cantor Anibal Mass.

Hillel Winnipeg students take pride in building bridges between students from different religions and cultures. At the Seder, students will come to together from Hillel Winnipeg, St. Paul’s College, St. John’s College, Canadian Mennonite University, and the University of Manitoba Muslim Students Association.

The event will begin at 5PM on Sunday, March 30th at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Tickets are $12 for students and $20 for adults. Contact Josh Winestock at (204) 480 6561(204) 480 6561 or at [email protected] for tickets or information.
