Dear Members of Arab Jewish Dialogue (AJD),

We are very concerned, as we know you are, with the continuation of the war between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people, many of them civilians/non-combatants.

We truly believe the best way to resolve the decades long conflict between Arabs and Jews in the region is through respectful/genuine dialogue not war, a dialogue that resolves the underlying grievances and fears of both sides, a dialogue that breaks through stereotypes and ideologies in order to reach genuine understanding and historic reconciliation.

Israelis and Palestinians deserve what we all enjoy, which is to live in peace and security within defined/secure borders and hence our call for the two state solution.

Two states for two peoples, living side by side in peace.

We hope and pray for an end to further bloodshed.

When this war ends, the AJD will continue to educate Canadians to understand the difficult road ahead and to encourage people of good will everywhere to work towards peaceful resolutions in the region.
