WINNIPEG, MB - In celebration of its 15th anniversary, Dry Cold Productions presents the western Canadian premiere of the The Addams Family. Based on the classic cartoon by Charles Addams, it is a hilarious and quirky show with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, Big Fish, revival of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown) and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice May 20 – 23 at the Tom Hendry Warehouse.

The musical begins on a dismal day at the Addams Family’s manse.  Much to the shock of her family, 18-year-old daughter Wednesday is experiencing a surprising new sensation: she has fallen in love!  Lucas Beineke, the object of her affections, comes from a horrifyingly normal family and he and his parents Mal and Alice are on their way to the Addams’ estate to become better acquainted with the family over dinner.  Brother Pugsley, who has been ignored since Wednesday’s involvement with Lucas, begins to miss his daily torture sessions at the hands of his sister and pleads with her to torture him once more. Meanwhile, mother Morticia finds herself conflicted over her ever-maturing daughter’s newfound feelings, while oblivious father Gomez simply wishes things would remain the way they were.  As they question their own relationship, learn to relate to the Beinekes and cope with Wednesday’s romance, one thing is certain: the Addams Family will never be the same!

The Addams Family features a talented cast of well-known veterans and newcomers:

Gomez Addams – Kevin McIntyre

It features the work of Set Coordinator Chris Thomson, Lighting Designer Larry Isacoff, Costumer Jan Malabar and Harlequin Costumes, Stage Manager Karyn Kumhyr and Apprentice Stage Manager Rachel Young.
