June 5, 2015, (Winnipeg)- David Kroft, President of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg announced today that well-known Winnipeg lawyer Bryan Klein will chair the 2015 Combined Jewish Appeal Campaign.
The Campaign Chair plays a vital role in Federation’s Combined Jewish Appeal annual campaign. Taking the lead in all fundraising activities, the Chair assembles and manages the Campaign Team, sets the fundraising goals of the organization and develops the strategies to achieve these goals. In addition, the Campaign Chair acts as an ambassador and advocate for the Jewish Federation and its beneficiary agencies.
Mr. Klein has been an active member in the community for many years. He has served as on various boards: of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, of the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, of the Lawyers’ Division of United Way of Winnipeg, of the Health Sciences Centre Foundation and many other worthy organizations. Bryan is currently serving as a member of the Arab Jewish Dialogue and is a Life Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba. He is an enthusiastic volunteer and has been a canvasser for CJA for many years. He has been practicing law for over 45 years and is a partner at Aikins, MacAuley & Thorvaldson. His focus has been primarily tax, business, and commercial real estate. A highlight in his social responsibility portfolio was his involvement as Board Chair for Versatech Industries Inc. In helping establish this organization, Bryan and his team have given opportunities to over 200 mentally challenged adults to find sheltered employment. The organization continues to do this great work to this day.
Bryan and his family are dedicated volunteers and consistently show the meaning and value of philanthropy through a variety of activities. His wife, Susan, has been an enthusiastic and integral part of the volunteer community for many years and his daughter, Baillie, is a Co-Chair of Federation’s Young Adult Division and is a full member of her father’s Campaign Team.
The Jewish Community of Winnipeg is honoured to have such a dedicated volunteer advocating for all of the worthy causes it supports.
