Jewish National Fund Manitoba/Saskatchewan office is hiring a:
Program & Communications Coordinator
The main focus of the role is to create new and dynamic programming and to ensure that existing programs are being delivered successfully, meeting its mandate and generating profile, revenue and exposure for the JNF brand. In addition, the successful individual must exhibit the necessary training/education/experience in order to deliver communications related to website, e-newsletter and social media networking site programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Programs: – To ensure the delivery of programs and services; ongoing program development and measurable evaluation – Administration and management of volunteers including recruitment, training, orientation, supervision and appreciation – Work cooperatively with the Office Administrator in the development and management of the JNF’s contact database and maintain up-to-date records (e.g. members, donors, sponsors, in-kind supporters, professional contacts, media contacts, event attendees, project funders etc.) – Provide planning, organization, promotion and administration for events (board meetings, strategic planning sessions, fundraisers etc.) – Keeping website current with regular information-gathering, postings and updates, and forwarding updates to the web administrator – Work cooperatively with the Executive Director & Office Administrator in the smooth functioning of the office and daily operations – Work cooperatively with the Executive Director in the development of an annual fundraising plan/ initiatives – Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Communications: – Work cooperatively with Executive Director in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies and programs – Responsible for updating and maintaining content of website – Assist with the operations and promotions of all major JNF events & campaigns – Design all communications materials related to events, campaigns, programs, etc. using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. – Administration of public relations (sending out press releases, public service announcements, updating media contacts list, etc) and outreach & education events/activities – Assist JNF Canada’s Communications and Social Media Manager in creating social media content specific to Manitoba & Saskatchewan – Have working knowledge of JNF policies, procedures and internal workings- Assist Executive Director in communications with media & community (i.e. promoting events & campaigns, etc)
Qualifications:
– Degree in relevant field or relevant training and experience – Experience working within the not-for-profit sector/community-based organizations – Graphic Design skills and proficiency in the use of Adobe CS6 – Experience in program planning, implementation and evaluation – Experience working with volunteers – Ability to multi-task, manage tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment – Highly organized with strong administrative skills – Strong communication skills – Have knowledge and understanding of the Jewish community
