.

October 30. 2015

The Maestro Series is a collaborative project for the University of Winnipeg Collegiate and its Arts Partners.  This first series of workshops features MCMA faculty member and WSO Music Director, Alexander Mickelthwate, exploring topics with roots in music and the arts that transcend into all facets of our personal and professional lives.

The four-part series takes place in November and features intriguing topics that examine how the arts can affect our everyday lives, the series promises to be as educational as it is entertaining.

We usually think of the “Maestro” in the context of music as the great and distinguished musician and conductor of classical music. However, the discipline, focus, creativity, leadership and motivation skills a conductor possesses are essential skills that are transferrable to everyone’s professional and personal lives.  Join our esteemed Maestro of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Alexander Mickelthwate, for a unique learning experience in this series of fascinating and interactive presentations.

“Music encompasses a vast array of tones, from street sounds to the resonance of an orchestra, and it can influence our mood, energy, personality and interactions,” said Mickelthwate. “I am excited to explore how music and its principles enhance and enrich our lives.”
