Dear Community Members,
I wanted to address two incidents that occurred in the last week, here in our local community and in Israel. As an organization and community we condemn the anti-Semitic, hateful act toward members of our community last week. As you may know, a rock painted with swastikas and the chilling name “Einzatsgruppen” was left for a city homeowner last week. For more information, and the responses, please click here.
It is with great gratitude and pride that I say in the face of hatred and discrimination the Winnipeg community has rallied around our community with solidarity, love, and support. We have received an outpouring of support from faith groups across the city, the municipal government, the Winnipeg Police Service, and caring individuals.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue or the issue of anti-Semitism, please feel free to contact us.
As we take care and comfort in our Winnipeg community, we extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the victims of Sunday’s attacks in Jerusalem. A cold act of violence took the lives of four IDF soldiers and wounded seventeen others. We wish the families peace and support during this terrible time of grief and loss. Read about the young lives lost here.
Thank you for showing such integrity and compassion at times when it’s so easy to react negatively.
Sincerely,
Elaine Goldstine
Chief Executive Officer
