Curtis Moffat CEO of Pioneer Building says that every custom home his company builds, including the HSC Lottery Home on 22 Greenlawn Street in North River Heights is " a labour of love."
"We are a boutique builder. We focus on taking on a smaller volume of projects, such that each and every project , including the home on 22 Greenlawn, is unique and one of a kind."

Pioneer Building designs homes which are "organic" with their surroundings. "We have a passion for what we are building. We respect natural surroundings. We take into account , for example, where the sun rises and sets, the topography, where the trees and the shade are," Moffat notes.
The location and neighborhood dramatically shaped the style and DNA of the home on 22 Greenlawn St. "Since the home was built in North River Heights, among those originally built in the mid 1900's, we included several classic elements such as a classic front portico, Pre-War millwork and crystal door knobs. The bones of the home are intended to be in sync with the founding years of North River Heights, but we introduced modern furnishings and amenities to make the home current for today's lifestyle," he says.
"If a client is looking for a home that is specifically tailored to their needs, then our company would be a great fit," Moffat emphasizes. "When we design a home, we draw inspiration from the uniqueness of each client's lifestyle."
Moffat says he aims to builds homes that are "a work of art." He quotes from St Francis of Assisi who once said "He who works with his hands is a Laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a Craftsman. He who works with his hands, his head and his heart is an Artist."
Pioneer Building wanted to build the HSC Lottery Home in River Heights since it is a very desirable neighborhood. "North River Heights is enveloped with a canopy of ash trees, boutique shops and fine restaurants that dot the streets. It is a great neighborhood to raise a family with excellent schools and beautiful parks. The area is replete with artistic turn of the century architecture that is very appealing." he says.
"People who have seen the home on 22 Greenlawn Ave have noticed that it has a warm and cozy feel to it," Moffat points o
