“The music was amazing. My kids, Nico, 9, and Tali, 4, like the crafts the best,” said Veronica Nudler.
The Rady Jewish Community Centre held a music and fun filled Tu B’Shevat Family celebration on January 31, 2010. The talented Fink Posen band entertained the audience with a mixture of Tu B’Shevat and Israeli songs. Avi Posen on vocals, mother Shayla Fink on back up and piano, and father Kinzey and brother Ariel on guitars.
After the music there were activities for the children which included face painting, flower pot painting, planting, fishing for fruit, salt dough sculpting, making nature mobiles, colouring, decorating cookies, and two inflatable bouncers.
Evelyn Elson brought her two children, German, 9 and Ivan, 3. She said, “They love jumping on the bouncers and decorating the cookies. They like to come to these events to see their friends and find new friends.”
There were lots of new friends and old friends to be found as about 200 people filled the JCC gym, mostly parents, children ages 1 to 7, and some seniors.
Shale Reider brought his daughter Meadow, 2. He said, “This is a great kid-friendly event where the children can just run around and have fun. My daughter is having a blast.”
