Raquel Benzacar Savatti, the CEO of Canada Israel Securities, Limited/Israel Bonds Canada is pleased to announce that it is now possible to buy Israel bonds online, "which is something people have been waiting for."
"It is a relatively simple procedure. You go to www.israelbonds.ca and there is a green button that says 'invest online.' You open up an account and once the account is opened then you can buy bonds. All the bonds and rates are listed on the website. You can buy both Canadian and U.S. dollar denominated bonds online," Benzacar Savatti says.
"All the information on how to open an account and how to pay for the bond is on our website. You will need to provide account opening information only once. After that your account is set-up and it's really easy to buy bonds going forward," Benzacar Savatti notes.
She adds, "The only form of payment is through a bank account, so you will need your chequing account number, your branch number, and your transit number. The monies are directly debited from your account. CISL/Israel Bonds does not receive payment or convert currency. Computershare is the fiscal agent for the state of Israel and is responsible for receipt and issuance of payments relating to Israel bonds.”
Benzacar Savatti also says that if you need any help you can of course call Israel Bonds at 1.866.543.3351
Benzacar Savatti points out that "We have a lot of clients who buy bonds for Simchas. Shortly before you are going to a Bar-Mitzvah you can now go online and buy a bond as a gift. We also provide templates for cards online that let people know a bond has been purchased for them and you can print your card and take it with you to the Bar-Mizvah."
Benzacar Savatti also indicates that "Although the Israeli economy is strong, Israel bonds are still very relevant. Every person that buys a bond is really establishing a direct connection with the State of Israel, at a time when Israel needs to know that the Diaspora stands with her."
As Benzacar Savatti notes, "This includes the younger generation. They are used to buying everything online. We believe that with online Israel Bond sales, we'll see an increase in the number of investors, which is what the State of Israel wants to see from the Bonds organization."
