Gray Academy of Jewish Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrea Ritter as its new Director of Marketing and Communications. Andrea is excited to be returning to her hometown of Winnipeg after over twenty years in Toronto. She has spent the last two decades specializing in communications strategy, brand development, and content marketing in the agency, corporate, and not-for-profit sectors.
Throughout her years in Toronto, Andrea has maintained strong ties to family, friends, and her Jewish community in Winnipeg. Growing up, she attended Gray Academy's founding schools Talmud Torah and Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate, and was active in USY, BBYO and Chai. Andrea has been actively involved in Toronto's Jewish community, volunteering with UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, the Toronto Jewish Foundation, AIDS Walk Toronto, and Associated Hebrew Schools. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of Beth Sholom Synagogue and performs with the Toronto Jewish Chorus.
Andrea looks forward to drawing on her experiences as a day school student, parent and marketing professional. She hopes to further elevate the profile of Gray Academy in a community she cares for deeply, in the city her heart never left. She is thrilled to have her two daughters continue their education at Gray Academy in Grades 3 and 9, close to family and longtime friends. She is also happy to say goodbye to the Leafs and to regain unfettered access to good rye bread and party sandwiches. We will welcome Andrea to her new role in mid-August.
We are grateful to David Borzykowski for his three years in the position and wish him well as he embarks on a new endeavour in his career. David reinvigorated the Marketing and Communications office and oversaw the creation of our new magazine, Legacies, our new website (launching in July), and the transition to online enrollment, amongst others. He served proudly on the Leadership Team as an alumnus ('01) and will continue to support the school during this time of transition.
