It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of our Summer 2020 season.
It has been a difficult and uncertain time for our BB Camp community. From the beginnings of social distancing through the depths of stay-at-home, we know our campers and staff have had one overriding wish - to be at camp this summer. We appreciate your patience, support, and dedication.
As you may have heard, on Tuesday May 19th Premier Doug Ford announced that overnight summer camps will remain closed in Ontario for the 2020 season. We know this is very disappointing news for our camp community. Throughout the past months we have been carefully monitoring the evolving pandemic and consulting with health experts and the summer camp professional networks and associations. We have had one goal in mind – if we could legally and safely do so - to bring our campers, families, staff, community and friends the BB Camp experience they deserve and expect. We are making the painful and difficult announcement that this summer’s BB Camp season is cancelled. This includes Day Camps and Specialty programs. The health, safety, and logistics of opening the camp to the public - the camp you know, the camp you love, and the camp you miss every single day is simply not possible.
We are heartbroken, of course, but this pandemic compels all of us to deal with forces beyond our control. We are thinking of each one of you in light of this disappointing news and we are here for you. We are all strongly and deeply devoted to the BB Camp community—not just during the summer but throughout the year and especially at this challenging time. We’re already looking forward to creating the best-ever camp program for 2021, and we know that when we’re back together then, we will pick up right where we left off!
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. For now, we send good wishes to everyone in our camp family and wishes for healing and wholeness to those who have been personally affected by this virus. We appreciate your patience, partnership, and on-going support, and we look forward to future summers around the fire and on the lake together.
B’nai Brith, proud of you am I...symbol of friendship as the years go by…here’s to fun and love and loyalty.
