Seven Things to Keep You Feeling and Looking Young

September 1, 2020

Who doesn’t want to be younger? Many yearn for a time when they had more energy, fewer aches, and no wrinkles. It’s one thing to look younger, and it’s another to feel that way. Youthfulness is about being able to enjoy the simplest pleasures in life with a smile on your face. As the subject of countless pop songs, being “forever young” can be helped with these treatments and lifestyle changes:

1) Consume superfoods. Certain foods are proven to help reverse the effects of time on your skin. A diet that’s rich with all the right stuff will help you feel as
young as you’ll look. Fruits with antioxidants, like blueberries and cranberries, fight free radicals and boost overall health. Omega-3 fatty acids, which promote
good gut bacteria and improve skin hydration, are also recommended. Enrich your diet with vitamins C, A, and D to strengthen your bones and prevent the
breakdown of collagen. High amounts of sugar and fat can result in fatigue and low self-esteem. But when you consume a healthy diet, you’ll look as good as
you feel.

2) Boost your immune system with naturopathic therapies. IV administration of vitamins and minerals gives your bloodstream a highly concentrated dose of the
essential nutrients that your body needs. Even when you consume these nutrients in your diet, you don’t always receive their benefits due to
malabsorption. Intravenous therapy ensures that they are delivered directly. When your body has the essentials that it needs, it can reduce inflammation, a telltale sign of aging. Consider IV therapy to strengthen your immune system.

3) Wear SPF daily. Preventative care goes a long way in countering the signs of aging. When skin is exposed to the sun, it takes on a leathery appearance. Harmful UV rays can degrade the collagen in your skin, causing sunspots and wrinkles. A minimum of SPF 20 will protect your skin from damage. Make it twice
as effective by combining a moisturizer with SPF; your skin will stay glowing and radiant. If you want to take your skin care regimen a step further, invest in
products that contain Vitamin A and C, or hyaluronic acid. They will improve your skin’s ability to retain moisture, and increase the production of collagen.

4) Spend time in nature. After you’ve applied sunscreen, take a walk in the great outdoors. Physical activity will increase blood flow and promote a youthful look.
You’ll feel young again when you inhale the fresh, outdoor air. Get those endorphins flowing by setting aside the time for a daily jog. By spending part of the day outside, you’ll improve your figure by burning calories and boost your mood while enjoying the sunshine.

5) Go for a body sugaring treatment. Imagine a hair removal method that makes you feel revitalized without the pain of wax. There are two benefits to body sugaring: the lack of hair will have you feeling fresh, and the exfoliation will make your skin supple and smooth. The paste used contains natural ingredients like sugar and lemon juice. Plus, it only takes 15 minutes! A body sugaring treatment may be just what you need to feel younger.

6) Manage your stress levels. The sage that said that “laughter is the best medicine” was probably referring to its anti-aging effects. When we feel stressed,
we tend to frown in ways that exaggerate fine lines and wrinkles. Taking the time to do what you enjoy in life can help relieve tension. Effective ways to do this are to engage in a regular yoga practice, keep up a journal, and spend time with loved ones. Some people turn to cigarettes to manage their stress, but this
should be avoided! Along with the other harmful effects of smoking, it reduces oxygen in the skin and decreases blood flow. This causes sagging and wrinkles.
Adopt healthy mechanisms of stress management to keep yourself looking and feeling younger.

7) Try a skin rejuvenation treatment. Does your skin show visible signs of aging? Maybe you have discolouration or fine lines. With IPL photo rejuvenation, a pulse of light is used to fade uneven tones and transform your face to have luminous, radiant skin. This advancement in dermatology diminishes the appearance of pores and wrinkles. Better yet, there’s no downtime or surgery involved - the procedure is safe and non-invasive.

Youth is elusive; we spend most of our adult lives trying to get it back. A healthy diet and lifestyle can help you feel and look your best, as can various treatments that reverse the signs of aging and improve your appearance.
