Community Members Carol and Neil Duboff Set to be Honoured at 48th Annual Rady JCC Ken Kronson Sports Dinner

April 23,2022

WINNIPEG, MB – One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time.

The Rady JCC is thrilled to welcome community volunteers and philanthropists Carol and Neil Duboff as its 2022 Honourees at the 48th Annual Rady JCC Ken Kronson Sports Dinner, taking place Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg.

Carol and Neil will be profiled and recognized alongside this year’s keynote speaker, three-time Super Bowl champion and all-time NFL rushing leader Emmitt Smith. An anticipated crowd of over 1,200 business and community leaders are expected to attend what will be the first event in three years due to the pandemic.

Both Carol and Neil are very active members and contributors to both the Winnipeg Jewish and general communities and have supported the Rady since its inception.

Carol is a retired schoolteacher who spent 33 years within the Winnipeg School Division. Even though retired, she continues to pour herself into volunteer and community work. She began over 40 years ago, calling donors on Super Sunday for Combined Jewish Appeal at the YMHA on Hargrave Avenue. Carol has been a member of Winnipeg ORT for 40 years where she has served various roles including Chapter President and Winnipeg Regional President.

Some of Carol’s other past volunteer roles include member of the Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg, and Board member of both Jewish Child and Family Service and Winnipeg Jewish Theatre. Carol remains strongly connected to the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, serving in many capacities such as co-chair of Super Sunday, a member of the Women’s Philanthropy Division and has been the Chair of the Community Planning Committee for the past six years.

Neil is currently the managing partner of the firm Duboff Edwards Law Corporation. Born in Winnipeg, he recognizes the importance of being involved in his community, serving as a Trustee of the City of Winnipeg Pension Plan, Past Chair of the Board of the Saint Boniface Hospital Foundation, Chair of Congregation Shaarey Zedek’s ‘L’Dor Va Dor’ capital campaign, a past Director of the Saint Boniface Hospital and a member of the Arab Jewish Dialogue.

Some of Neil’s previous volunteer roles include Chair of the Manitoba Health Professions Advisory Council, President of the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg, President of Jewish Child and Family Service, Member of the Manitoba Public Utilities Board, a director of Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club, a director of the Native Association of Trust Officers, and a director of the Children’s Hospital Research Foundation.

Every single dollar from the Rady JCC Ken Kronson Sports Dinner directly supports the Rady, a not-for-profit community agency providing recreational, cultural, and fitness programs for all age groups to meet the diverse needs of the community-at-large. The Rady is non-religious and non-denominational and is open to all. Through its programs and camps, it reaches 3,200 children a year, helping them to stay active and develop leadership skills. The Rady provides programming for children with disabilities, as well as programming that promote the wellbeing of people living with chronic illnesses or recovering from cancer.

The evening includes a multi-course gala dinner, silent, live, and rainbow auctions. Individual tickets, corporate tables, and sponsorships are now available. Full details and pricing can be found by clicking here.
