Shaarey Zedek Capital Campaign Update // Message from Neil Duboff, President // Mar 23, 2023

(This message below was sent out to members of Shaarey Zedek Synagogue )

posted here March 29,2023

Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you well! I’m pleased to provide the following progress report regarding the building project and related L’Dor Va Dor capital campaign:

When last we ‘spoke’ regarding the campaign, we were waiting to receive final numbers from the subtrades. I am happy to advise that these numbers have been received and are within budget.

Akman Construction confirms that construction is on schedule. The progress is exciting to see, even at this still-early stage. Click HERE to view pictures of the synagogue interior in its current state.

As of March 20/23, the capital campaign has raised $8,037,457, which, when combined with Shaarey Zedek’s contribution of up to $3 million, brings total commitments to date to $11,037,457 – THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed. We are in discussion with the Province of Manitoba regarding a contribution to the project, and continue working to connect with members who have not yet been called by a volunteer canvasser. If you are interested in contributing or have any questions regarding the campaign or the building project, please contact Bob Freedman or Jodi Novak via [email protected], or by calling Jodi at 204-452-3711. We would be happy to answer any questions you have.

I hope that you have been taking the time to read the excellent information being sent out weekly from various committee chairs and senior staff. I also hope that you feel optimistic – as we do! – about the revitalization of our shul, its community, and the efforts being made by lay leaders and senior staff to bring everyone into the discussion at this important time of renewal.

And on that note, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all an early Happy Passover – Chag Sameach!

Neil Duboff,

President and L’Dor Va Dor Capital Campaign Chair
