CAN YOU JUDGE? GRAY ACADEMY NEEDS JUDGES FOR ASPER CUP NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DEBATE MARCH 6 OR MARCH 7

by Cara Kroft and Hope Morry

Gray Academy is hosting the annual Asper Cup Natonal High School Debate on Sunday Mar. 6 and Monday Mar. 7.  This event provides an opportunity for students from all over Canada to participate in, and observe debate of the highest quality.

It's not only a chance for our school to be recognized nationally for our debate program but it is also a chance for Winnipeg to host a competition on a national level.

In order for the event to be successful we need 200 volunteer judges. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. We realize that everyone is very busy but we hope that you will be able to find time to help us out.  Events such as this are impossible without the kind and generous assistance of volunteers.

No experience is necessary, just a willingness to listen to the students present their arguments.  As those of you who have judged before are aware, judges are given a thorough briefing prior to the session and will never be the only judge in the room. Anyone over high school age can volunteer.

Volunteers are asked to please fill out the rm and return it to the school.  Unless the schedule changes, you will not be contacted prior to the event, unless you specifically request a response.

On the day you are available to judge, please come to the multi-purpose room at Gray Academy, 123 Doncaster Street, at the time shown on the form for registration and briefing. There will also be volunteers at the Security Desk at the Asper Jewish Community Campus (123 Doncaster st.) to escort you to the Multi-purpose room.

Thanks so much for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Cara Kroft and Hope Morry
